The room was immaculate, and the puzzles were challenging without being impossible. What a blast! The hosts were friendly and helpful from the minute we got there. Sarah was our Game Master for the Oval Office and she was so fun! Alexa was our Game Master for Escape Room and she was very sweet, too.ġ0 of my friends and family did Houdinis game room for my birthday. Very impressed by the quality and care taken in to maintaining their spaces. I felt like this place had the opportunity to be really cheesey, however the props, decor, puzzles are all top notch. You become fast friends and teammates with anyone in your group, whether you knew them before or not. Had so much fun, I came back the next day with my husband and did the Escape Room with 6 strangers. I highly recommend this if you are looking for something to do besides the same old, same old, it is very entertainingĬame to Houdinis Room Escape with a group of friends for a birthday party and managed to survive the Oval Office with 9 seconds left on the clock. We did not escape and I was so sure we would!!! And ironically not getting out makes me that much more excited to go back and try again to see if knowing how the process works we can make it happen next time. I kinda think it would be fun to work there because they monitor your progress with cameras and it seems like it would be interesting to see how different groups would work and think/solve to try to get out. I was surprised by that but it actually did make it more interesting to do the work on your own (with timely clues if you got stuck for very long). No opening hint or clue, you just start figuring it out. Then we were escorted back, given the premise of our room (we did the tower) and then the guy left and the clock started. The lobby has cool little puzzles to play with while you wait to start if you arrive early which gets your brain going. I was skeptical especially since 26$ per person for a one hour experience seemed high. My husband, my brother and I did this on my birthday just to try something new. So glad this is right in my backyard, and we will definitely be back soon. This would be a great place to bring out of towners or extended family, where you have lots of different personalities and age ranges too. I wouldnt recommend this for small children, but anyone over the age of 12 or so would be fine. I cannot wait to go back and try the Library next time. You can tell they did their research on what the other escape rooms are doing, and Houdinis has taken that to a whole new level with how customized and detailed their missions and rooms are. Since the group is different every time and the hints along the way vary from group to group, no one ever has the same exact experience as another, which is why this place is so cool. Everyone in our group was an asset to our mission- it was insane to see us all running around at once working on so many different puzzles and clues! We didnt "escape" but it was a blast. The room monitor watches and listens to your every move, which is both nerve-wrecking but also super helpful, as they make sure your group stays on-track and offers hints along the way. You start with no clues at all, and are simply left to work as a team to not just get out of the room, but to unlock one clue after another, until you finally figure out the code to escape the Lab to save the world from the Z virus. We were so wrong! The moment John left the room and we heard the door "lock" it was intense! The clock on the wall counts down time, reminding you of the sense of urgency in your mission. Oh my goodness!! This place is INSANE! We did the "Lab" room this week with our group of 6, and let me start by saying that none of us had ever done an escape room, so we had no idea what we were getting into.We thought that we would get a clue and start a puzzle that would lead us from one puzzle to the next, until we were able to get out of the room.
